The Tibetan Curtain 8 Auspicious Symbols Bordeaux made of silk with excellent quality has the 8 auspicious symbols embroidered. These door curtains are found at many entrances of houses and temples in Nepal and Tibet.

The 8 auspicious symbols are:

  • White right-handed conch – The white conch curling to the right symbolises the deep, profound and melodious sound of Dharma teachings, which being appropriate to different natures, predispositions and aspirations of the disciples, awakens them from the deep sleep of ignorance and stimulates them to realise their own and others’ well-being.
  • Precious umbrella – The precious umbrella symbolizes the wholesome activity of preserving beings from disease, harmful forces, obstacles, etc., in this life and all kinds of temporary and lasting suffering from the three lower realms, and the realms of men and gods in future lives. It also represents the enjoyment of a feast of benefit under its cool shade.
  • Victory flag – The victory flag symbolises the victory of the activities of one’s body, speech and mind over obstacles and negativities. It also represents the complete victory of Buddhist Doctrine over all harmful and pernicious forces.
  • Goldfish – The goldfish symbolizes the auspiciousness of all living beings in a state of fearlessness, without danger of drowning in the ocean of suffering, and migrating from place to place freely and spontaneously, just as fish swim freely without fear through the water.
  • Wheel of Dharma– The wheel of Dharma symbolizes the auspiciousness of the turning of the precious wheel of the Buddha’s doctrine, both in its teachings and realizations, in all realms and at all times, allowing beings to experience the joy of wholesome deeds and liberation.
  • Knot of Interdependence – The Knot of Interdependence symbolises the mutual dependence of religious doctrine and secular affairs. Similarly, it represents the union of wisdom and method, the inseparability of emptiness and dependence arising at the time of the path, and finally, at the time of enlightenment, the complete union of wisdom and great compassion.
  • Lotus flower – The lotus flower symbolizes the complete purification of impurities of body, speech and mind, and the complete blossoming of wholesome deeds into blissful liberation.
  • Treasure vase – The treasure vase symbolizes an endless shower of long life, wealth and prosperity and all the benefits of this world and liberation.

In most Tibetan families, the wooden parts around the doors and windows were painted black, but they use other colours from nature to decorate the doors and windows. In the highlands of Tibet, the sunlight is very strong, and the winds and dust are very strong, which will cause serious damage to the decorations. Therefore, Tibetans use a curtain-like cloth over the doors and windows.

This door curtain will bring a new look to your home or office. As the design is a symbol of well-being and good luck, it will surely create a positive element to your environment.

The dimensions are 170cm high and 90cm wide. It can be placed with 3 shrimps holding the top of the curtain.

Handmade in Nepal.
