Entering the Great Expanse

Entering the Great Expanse is Tulku Sherdor’s most important work, the fruit of 40 years of studying the Dharma. With candour and clarity, and a dose of humour, it explains how to study and practice the dharma correctly in order to gain genuine experience and realisation. It is a guide and manual to the liturgy, An Excellent Path to Omniscience, published in 2017 by Blazing Splendor.

Using the practice of Ngöndro as its foundation, this book explains the purpose, layers of meaning, and benefits of each level of Dharma practice, including the highest levels of Vajrayana and Dzogchen. The instructions and explanations are teachings of lineage masters of the past, but spoken to be heard by today’s Dharma students. The oral instructions offered here, taken from the tradition of the Longchen Nyingtig, are vastly applicable to all lineages of Ngöndro. The chapters on Bodhichitta, Vajrasattva, and Guru Yoga, in particular, are recommended reading for everyone.
