Vajrasattva statues represent an integral and complex Buddhist deity in both Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. This is because Vajrasattva is the Sambhogakaya incarnation of Vajradhara, the primordial Buddha. Vajradhara is the Dharmakaya, which is the absolute truth or primordial wisdom.

Vajrasattva is highly referenced by all schools of Tibetan Buddhism, especially in relation to the practice of Ngöndro or in the preliminary practices for receiving advanced teachings on Tantra. It is highly effective in purifying negative karmic tendencies created by the ten non-virtuous actions and transgressions of precepts, vows and commitments.

When our negative karma is purified, many of our desires will arise spontaneously with far fewer obstacles, and we will experience harmony, peace and happiness within our minds. Essentially, when coupled with sincere grief and positive determination (the Four Powers), Vajrasattva practice can cut the root of the vicious cycle of getting and giving pain.
