Incense

Burning incense is an ancient religious ritual common to Egypt, India and East Asia. It is steeped in symbolism. In Buddhism, it is a sacred offering, a way of honouring the Three Jewels, Buddha, Dharma and the Sangha. Burning a stick of incense that results in fragrant smoke teaches the need to burn away negative qualities within oneself in order to reveal the pure self within.
