The Clay Snake Incense Burner is round and has a shallow depth ending in a spiral at the bottom. This incense holder has two holes – one slightly larger than the other in order to hold two different types of incense sticks.
Incense burning is an important ritual in all major Buddhist traditions, but the purpose and symbolism of incense is slightly different for each tradition. In Buddhism, incense functions as an offering to the Buddhas, or enlightened ones, as well as a symbol for various aspects of Buddhist belief and an aid to positive thoughts and actions.
Each incense burner is hand carved and painted by Himalayan artisans and may vary slightly in colour and size.
