Sandalwood Wrist Mala 27 beads handmade in Nepal from sustainable wood. Beads with a diameter of 8mm. Elastic thread and finishing knot in blue thread.
Wrist malas can be used to replace 108 bead malas in cases where you need to do a practice and don’t have your main mala with you. They are also often used for counting prostrations.
Indian sandalwood is perhaps the most expensive wood on the planet, due to its cosmetic and therapeutic value. There is a huge international demand for this wood, with its fragrant heartwood priced at over 100€/kilo. This tree grows very well in South India, especially in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, and needs very little water.
Looking after your mala:
- Please do not wash your mala or wear it while bathing or sleeping, as this can weaken the mala’s thread.
- To clean your mala: gently wipe the beads with a damp cloth and place in moonlight or sunlight to dry.
- When not in use, store your mala in a Mala Bag.
