Resin Kapala 16cm. Kapalas are used as offering vessels in Vajrayana practice. They are often used to place nectar/elixir and rakta offerings on the shrine. When placed in front of a practitioner, it is then filled with nectar that is consecrated by the practitioner as part of elaborated sadhana practices. This large kapala is most practical for use in tsok offering rituals or as part of a shrine of empowerments.
In its traditional form, the skull cup, known as a kapala in Sanskrit, is produced from the upper half of a human skull. These skull cups we offer here have been created from resin to resemble the real thing as closely as possible. They represent the aspect of enlightened wisdom and also serve as a reminder of impermanence.
